Taking Your Own Advice!

Don’t you hate it when you have to take your own medicine – practice what you preach?

I often talk about positive feedback being “the wind in our sails” keeping us motivated; and corrective feedback being the rudder we use to get back on course.

I’m used to getting positive feedback about my Mentoring Tips. People love them, so it was a surprise when I got some negative feedback last year. “They’re too long,” some mentors complained (they’re one-page or less) “we don’t have time to read them”.

So, when a client asked if I could write something similar to Mentoring Tips but more specifically directed at mentorees, I decided to make them ultra short (150 words tops) and, although aimed at mentorees, useful reading for time-poor mentors too.

I’ve called the series Not A Random Chat: How to have meaningful conversations with your mentor. You can view the titles and download some samples here

I’d love your feedback – positive or corrective!
